Haden Harris Pickel was raised on a farm near Montgomery, Alabama, where her early connection to nature would later inspire much of her artistic journey. A 1964 graduate of Auburn University, she earned a BA in Visual Art, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of creativity and expression.

Haden has continued her artistic development through ongoing education, studying under accomplished painters and participating in workshops across the United States and internationally. She is a proud member of the Chestnut Group, the Plein Air Painting Society of Middle Tennessee, and the Tennessee Art League, and her work can be found in numerous private and public collections throughout the Southeast. She is featured alongside her son Hal Pickel, an accomplished painter in his own right, in the anthology, The Art of Community: Janet & Jim Ayers Collection of Tennessee Art.

Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Haden enjoys the companionship of her husband, their two sons, and their growing families. An avid gardener, she draws inspiration from the natural world around her. Her artistic portfolio spans a diverse range of subjects, from figurative and landscape works to vibrant florals. Recently, she has ventured into larger, more expressionist compositions, pushing the boundaries of her craft.
